Alien: Isolation podcast review

The team having a jolly time with Alien: Isolation

Mike (@MikePlantGC) fondly remembers a time when Mode 7 was king, Mario and Sonic would sooner die than share an Olympic event and when a console by Atari was something to look forward to (RIP Atari Jaguar).

The game really shines on the hard difficulty. It is way to easy on normal and isn’t as scary. Using cupbards to hide in all the times don’t work. I hid under a desk one time and the damn alien bent down and looked there.

Hey Magnus, sorry for the late reply – your comment got hooked up in our damn overzealous spam filter! It’s sorted now.

Anyway, Alien, yes, you’re right. It really needs to feel like you’re in danger to be at its best. It’s a game that really split the panel as you’ve probably seen – I know that it’d be one I’d have to revisit if they patch it for VR. I’m hoping that somehow it’ll spawn a sequel at E3 too as it’s a game that deserves a second chance, I just hope they realise it doesn’t need to be padded with so many fetch and carry quests.
